St.Patrick's Day cupcakes make Irish eyes smile...

March is almost over. That doesn't mean lucky shamrocks aren't as lucky. But a buttercream shamrock on a delicious cupcake means you've found the treasure at the end of the rainbow!
These St. Patrick's Day cupcakes are adorable and make us want to eat them (and some corned beef and cabbage!)

DYI: Halloween Pinata Cupcakes

Halloween is best because of all the tricks and treats. We especially love treats that trick! Take these cupcakes for example - Delicious cupcakes filled with candies and decorated like regular, spooktacular Halloween cupcakes!

How to make:
1. Bake cupcakes according to recipe and let cool completely.
2. Using a metal teaspoon, indent a circle and dig out the center of the cupcakes.
3. Fill with desired candies.
4. With a piping bag, frost as normal and decorate!

Trick or treat cupcakes are fun for Halloween parties or even gender reveal parties.

Last month, we had a great time on the "Winging it, Buffalo Style" set making these cakes. Click here to watch the segment!

Spotted: (Lime) Cinco de Mayo Cupcakes

WANTED: Shot of tequila

Rimmed with salt or rimmed with sugar, when a cupcake has a tangy lime frosting, the texture of the sugar rim longs for a salty finish and a shot of tequila. Oh, wait. That's for all of the margarita fans!
These virgin margarita cupcakes are adorable and are a great way to statisfy a Cinco de Mayo craving.

Cute Alert: Gender Reveal Cake

Gender reveal cakes are becoming more and more popular. We love a good reason to impress avec les gateaux, so the Lola Pearl team has had a couple of gender reveal parties involving a sweet concoction.
We love love love the way this gender reveal cake spills out pink candies!!
For the last baby girl, there were filled cupcakes. While it's fun to have the color-coordinated cream filling, spice it up and fill only one with the color. The lucky attendee with the pink or blue cupcake will squeal with delight! Pin It

Banana Split Cupcakes

Summertime might still be far away, but ice cream dreams come in the form of cupcakes this time of year. The banana split cupcake can go down in a couple of different ways. Afterall, there are plenty of components that make up the beloved frozen treat: bananas, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple, peanuts, and, of course, whipped cream with a cherry on top.

These cupcakes feature a banana cake, topped with strawberry buttercream and all the fixings (minus the cherry)!

Minion Cupcakes Invade Buffalo's Winging It!

Minion cupcakes are as easy as they are adorable. You do not have to be a professional cupcake decorator to create these at home. They are perfect for back to school or a birthday party.

Here is the step-by-step instructions as seen on CW23's "Winging It, Buffalo Style"!
What you need:
Twinkies
White Cupcake mix (eggs, oil, water)
Black frosting
Sugar Eyeballs
3 plastic piping bags
Buttercream frosting
1 pound of powdered sugar
4 sticks of butter, at room temperature
2-4  tablespoons of Heavy Cream
2 tablespoons of vanilla
                Blue food coloring

Blue Buttercream + Eyeballs  + Twinkies
= The Secret to Minion Cupcakes
Instructions:
-Prepare the cupcakes according to the mix.
-While the cakes are baking and cooling, make the frosting.

How to make homemade buttercream frosting:
1. Using the paddle attachment, beat butter for about 3-4 minutes on medium speed.
2. Add sugar by the cup, starting at a slow speed.
3. Combine vanilla and heavy cream, while increasing the speed to medium high until it reaches your desired consistency.
(Add blue food coloring either to the mixer, or an additional bowl with a spatula, and fill a piping bag with the blue frosting.)

How to prepare the minions:
1.    Unwrap Twinkies and lay on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
2.    Cut about 1 1/2 inches off one end of cakes
3.    Fill 2  pastry bags with black frosting, cut one 1/3th of an inch and another 1/8th of an inch
4.    With the piping bag that has the bigger end cut, pipe a line across the top of the Twinkie (about 1.5 inches from the top)
5.    Place the sugar eyeballs onto center of the line
6.    With the smaller cut piping bag, pipe a smile and hair onto the Twinkie
7.            Secure the minion onto the frosted cupcakes Pin It

RECIPE ALERT: Blueberry sauce/compote

If you love blueberries, hopefully you've already tried our recipe for this delicious compote. The fragrance of the berries while they pop and release their juices is, by far, worth the very little effort needed.
Next comes the hard part: deciding what to put them on! Pancakes, cupcakes, ice cream, all would be a dream companion to this quick and easy summer staple. Pin It

The Story of the Ultimate Wedding Cupcake

Once upon a time, there was a tiny cake. It was baked in a liner of white and dressed in the finest paper crown. On top, a dollup of frosting was covered in fondant.

But wait, there is more!

Adorned with a gumpaste carnation, the cupcake had a pattern of swiss dots surrounding the edge.

Et voila: The Ultimate Wedding Cupcake
